Laia Ventayol García lives and works in Barcelona and Bayreuth. In her work she uses time-based media like video, performance or continual dialogue, also installation. Conceptually she researches as well on time, movement, transition, translation, transformation, deviation and change. She started her studies in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona and continued at the Akademie der bildenden Künste Nürnberg - Prof. Heike Baranowsky. In 2017 she received the 'Meisterschüler' qualification for her carreer in Nürnberg. In 2021 she obtains an MA in Theory of Literature and Compared Literature.
She participated in several exhibitions in Germany and Spain, some of them are: Loop Festival 2021 in Barcelona, Af.fair at Trama 34 in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, 'Other Times' in 2021 at The Green Parrot Barcelona, BIAM 2020 at Lo Pati in Amposta, 'The King, The Garden City, The Chorus & The Captain' during Arnis Residency 2019, 'Goldrausch 2017' at Kunstquartier Bethanien in Berlin, 'Si vaig fins a la punta de la llengua' at Gallery Maior in Palma de Mallorca in 2017, Die Blaue Nacht in 2016 in Nürnberg, 'Terra Recognita - Kapitel III' at Z-Bau Nürnberg in 2016, 'Die offene Seite' at Wiensowski & Harbord Berlin in 2014, 'Herbaris' at CCA Andratx in Mallorca.
